Short answer
The UOB ONE Card still markets up to 10% cashback on petrol, selected groceries, dining and Grab. That rate is real, but only after you hit a monthly minimum spend, and only until small per-category caps fill up. Everything else earns 0.2%.
For a new applicant, the card you can still apply for is the UOB ONE Platinum Card. UOB's public page says applications for the ONE Classic Card are no longer accepted. Classic still matters if you already hold it.
Worked Platinum maths (best-case split after RM1,500 min spend): about RM62 cashback on RM1,500, or roughly 4.1% effective. Existing Classic holders can still push closer to ~5% if they hit RM800 with clean category splits. That is decent cashback, not a free 10% on everything.
Cash rebate rules below follow UOB's ONE Card Terms and Conditions effective 31 October 2025. Banks change these. Check the live product page before you apply.

Quick verdict
Worth it if petrol, dining, Grab and eligible supermarkets are already a big slice of your month, and you can hit the minimum spend without inventing extra purchases.
Skip it if you want a flat, low-maintenance cashback card, or if most of your spend is utilities, online marketplaces outside the grocery list, or other "other retail" that only pays 0.2%.

Cashback structure
Rebate is calculated per statement month, based on posting date (not always the day you swiped). Principal and supplementary spend combine for the minimum. Cashback credits to the principal account.
| Category | Below min spend | At/above min spend | Classic max / month | Platinum max / month |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Petrol | 0.2% | 10% | RM10 | RM15 |
| Groceries (selected) | 0.2% | 10% | RM10 | RM15 |
| Dining | 0.2% | 10% | RM10 | RM15 |
| Grab | 0.2% | 10% | RM10 | RM15 |
| Other retail | 0.2% | 0.2% | Unlimited | Unlimited |
Minimum retail spend per statement month
- ONE Classic: RM800 (0.2% band is RM0 to RM799)
- ONE Platinum: RM1,500 (0.2% band is RM0 to RM1,499)
Hit the minimum and the four bonus categories jump to 10% until each cap is full. Fail the minimum and those categories stay at 0.2% too.
What counts in each bucket
Petrol. MCC 5541 and 5542. All petrol stations nationwide, plus Setel CardTerus paid with the UOB ONE Card. Setel wallet top-ups do not count.
Groceries. MCC 5411 only, and only at UOB's listed merchants, including: AEON Big, AEON Supermarket, Ben's Independent Grocer, Cold Storage, Econsave, Everise, Giant, Jaya Grocer, Lotus's, Mercato, Mydin, Servay, Village Grocer, Maxvalue and The Food Merchant. If your usual store is not on that list, assume 0.2% "other retail", not 10%.
Dining. MCC 5812 and 5814 (restaurants and fast food as coded by the merchant's bank).
Grab. Only these Grab services as coded: GrabRides, GrabExpress, GrabFood, GrabMart, GrabPay and GrabSubscription. Other app spend is not automatically "Grab" for rebate.
Other retail. Everything else eligible that is not in the four buckets. Always 0.2%, no cap.
What does not earn cashback (and often does not help the minimum either)
UOB's T&Cs exclude, among others: balance transfers, cash withdrawals, Easi-Payment / Flexi / IPP plans, JomPAY, Personal Internet Banking payments, government transactions including utility bills and postal services, charity and religious transactions, most e-wallet top-ups (GrabPay is the stated exception in the rebate rules), annual fees and other card charges, refunds and fraud.
That is why older "pay everything on ONE" reviews are too optimistic. TNB, Indah Water and similar bill pay are the wrong use of this card if you are chasing 10% or padding the minimum.
Classic: real cashback example (existing holders)
New applications for Classic are closed. This section is for people who still hold it.
A clean RM800 month that maxes the caps:
- RM100 petrol → RM10
- RM100 eligible groceries → RM10
- RM100 dining → RM10
- RM100 Grab → RM10
- RM400 other retail at 0.2% → RM0.80
Total cashback RM40.80 on RM800 → 5.10% effective.
If RM400 of that "other retail" is actually non-eligible (utilities, excluded top-ups), you may miss the RM800 minimum entirely and fall back to 0.2% across the board. The headline 10% never shows up.
Platinum: real cashback example (what new applicants get)
Min spend RM1,500. Caps RM15 per bonus category (so RM150 spend at 10% fills each cap).
Best-case split:
- RM150 petrol → RM15
- RM150 eligible groceries → RM15
- RM150 dining → RM15
- RM150 Grab → RM15
- RM900 other retail at 0.2% → RM1.80
Total cashback RM61.80 on RM1,500 → 4.12% effective.
A messier but common month (same RM1,500 total): RM400 petrol, RM200 dining, RM100 Grab, RM100 Lotus's, RM700 general online or other retail. You still hit the minimum, but petrol cashback caps at RM15, and a large chunk stays at 0.2%. Effective rate lands closer to low-to-mid 3% depending on the split. That is why ONE is not a set-and-forget card.
Annual fee, SST and income
ONE Platinum (open for application)
- Minimum income: RM36,000 per year
- Principal annual fee: RM195
- Supplementary: RM100
- Age: principal 21+, supplementary 18+
ONE Classic (existing holders)
- Principal annual fee: RM120
- Supplementary: RM60
SST: UOB's fee page lists RM25 SST per card per year on top of annual fees.
Fee waiver (from 1 January 2026): meet annual retail spend in the 12 months before the fee anniversary and the annual fee is not charged.
- Classic: RM15,000 annual spend
- Platinum: RM20,000 annual spend
Combined principal + supplementary retail spend counts. Balance transfers, instalment plans, cash withdrawals, fee payments and similar do not count toward the waiver (see UOB credit card annual fees).
If you already swipe enough to hit Platinum's RM1,500 most months, RM20,000 a year is realistic for daily drivers and painful for occasional users.
Acquisition offers (bank site vs aggregators)
UOB sometimes runs welcome campaigns on top of the base card. As of writing, the official product page is advertising cashback plus a first-year annual fee waiver for new applicants. Those numbers move, and the fine print is campaign-specific.
Before you apply on the bank site alone, it is worth checking whether an aggregator is running a better deal for the same card. RinggitPlus often has UOB ONE acquisition offers for stretches of the year, sometimes with guaranteed cashback or redeemable Touch 'n Go-style rewards on top of (or instead of) the bank's own welcome package. They are a product marketplace, not a deep review site, so use them for the apply-side offer, then come back to the fee and cashback maths here.
If neither side is running anything special, judge the card on the ongoing 4% to 5% style economics above, not on a one-off gift.
Who should get it
- You already spend on petrol, dining, Grab and listed grocers every month
- You can clear Classic RM800 or Platinum RM1,500 without forced spend
- You are willing to glance at category caps
- You want cashback, not miles (for a different UOB angle, see UOB Preferred if Coffee Bean is your habit)
Who should skip it
- You want one rate on almost everything
- Utilities and general online retail dominate your bill
- You will not hit the monthly minimum
- You refuse to check whether your supermarket is on the list
This is not a bad card. It is a profile card. Wrong profile, and the marketing 10% is cosplay.
Final verdict
Yes, for the right spending mix. No, as a default "best cashback card for everyone".
Existing Classic holders who still fit the four categories can keep a ~5% style outcome. New applicants should judge Platinum only, accept ~4% in a clean month and less in a messy one, and treat the annual fee as real unless RM20,000 yearly spend is already natural.
If UOB cuts categories again, or your grocery store falls off the list, revisit. Until then, the honest pitch is: capped 10% on a short list, 0.2% on the rest, after a non-trivial minimum.
If you already hold ONE, what effective rate are you actually getting after caps?
